Originally situated in San Jose del Cabo, the pioneering Flora Restaurant operated in town for 5 years. With the farm emerging as the restaurant's primary source of provisions, the owner made a pivotal decision—to relocate the restaurant to the heart of the farm. At Flora’s Field Kitchen, their commitment revolves around exclusively offering what they craft, nurture, and cultivate. The menu is seasonal, with some timeless classics. Every meat selection featured at Flora’s Field Kitchen is sourced from their nearby 150-acre ranch, where animals are thoughtfully raised on diets devoid of hormones or antibiotics.

Tamarindos
Authentic Mexican farm-to-table restaurant & cooking classes, with a Local-Mediterranean culinary proposal, situated in an original brick farmhouse built-in 1888. The restaurant offers an amazing countryside environment and beautiful views of the crops, while you seat in a terrace surrounded by brick walls, stone verandas, and wooden ceilings woven with vines, touched by a soft and refreshing breeze from the sea of Cortez.
Ruba's Bakery & Bistro
There's sure to be a crowd at this Arts District charmer, housed in a casita dating back to the 1940s. The space is fronted by umbrella-shaded tables facing a papel picado-strewn street. Inside and out back, it's all quite comfortable. This casual bistro serves throughout the day, and there is a coffee counter and display case of conchas, croissants and donuts, among other treats. More substantial offerings include cheese and charcuterie, salads, sandwiches and wood-fired pizza. At brunch, order the chilaquiles (available only Friday-Sunday), served in a skillet with crisp yellow corn tortilla chips soaked in a morita chile sauce, accompanied by diced bits of roasted lamb and a Valle de Guadalupe-style consommé. The freshly baked bolillo is great for dipping in the broth.
Lumbre
Located just off the art walk in San Jose del Cabo, Lumbre is a contemporary, stylish space from César Pita. It's a Mexican and live fire concept with global influences where creativity and originality reign supreme. Case in point? The grilled bread that kicks off the meal that's served with a bone marrow butter, served in the bone with hibiscus salt. And that's just the beginning. Compressed watermelon is a riot of colors and flavor, then a classic chile relleno is revamped with a Pasilla chile, stuffed with a "scallop chorizo" with gooey cheese, and fried until crispy. Pork belly in a Recaudo Negro sauce sided by carrot puree and a croquette of plantain puree is highly original. The friendly, welcoming staff caps off the experience.
Omakai Sushi
Located near the heart of San Jose del Cabo, Omakai sports a serene Mexican minimalist design while putting Japanese cuisine front and center. There are three menus to choose from, but whether you choose the teppanyaki tasting menu, the omakase, or select from the a la carte offerings, you can't go wrong. Those who opt for the omakase will find good quality, with many of the fish sourced from the local waters of La Paz and Ensenada. House-made pork belly gyoza are executed flawlessly, while the nigiri leans traditional at first, becoming more complex as the meal progresses. Seared salmon topped with a truffle sauce is decadently delicious. The meal concludes with a charming vanilla ice cream on squares of coffee jelly.
CarbónCabrón
Chef Poncho Cadena is in charge at this moody space where it will take your eyes a minute to adjust to the darkness. Library-style stacks of mesquite wood serve as a dramatic design theme but also as a not-so-subtle hint at the live fire concept. The menu is divided into vegetables, seafood and "black market" meats including tongue, sweetbread and more. These plates are ideal for sharing, though a chef's tasting menu is on hand for those who want to sample it all. Nuanced cooking is seen in dishes like the onion petals filled with habanero aïoli, coated in charcoal tempura batter, and fried. Served simply in a bowl, guests are encouraged to use their hands to scoop up these delights. Tail-on shrimp over a thick slice of pork belly leans sweet but satisfying.
Jardín Secreto Restaurante
Jardin Secreto is a captivating hidden gem in downtown San Jose del Cabo, offering a "beautiful setting" and a "romantic and picturesque" ambiance. The culinary crown jewel of the Five-Star Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, El Farallon — which translates to “a rock that comes out of the ocean” in Spanish — celebrates catch-of-the-day local seafood prepared however you’d like it. We recommend stopping by the restaurant’s open-air Champagne Terrace before dinner for a salt and champagne tasting.
