On May 6, 2021, Emily and Jeff head out for a weekend in Estes Park, Colorado. On the way there, they stop at the local King Soopers for deli sandwiches and GT's Kombucha (Flavors: Gingerade for Emily and Guava Goddess for Jeff). Upon reaching Estes Park, the two decide to hike up Lily Lake Mountain. With the weather looking a bit windy, the couple decides to have lunch in the shelter of the car. Afterwards, with her belly full of turkey pinwheel and kombucha, Emily is in a good mood to start the hike even with the chilly weather. Jeff leads the way, veering off onto a ridiculously steep climber's trail for "the views". He tries to take some candid pictures of Emily with the beautiful background of Lily Lake, but Emily is struggling hard and using all four limbs for this hike so all the photos look like a demo for how to do the bear crawl for elementary school gym class. At the top of Lily Lake Mountain, a large rocky formation juts out that Jeff claims will give them the best view of Estes Park. Now both are using hands and feet to pull and push their way up. Jeff warns Emily not to mess up her fresh manicure, she thinks "Wow, what a considerate man!" As they make it to the top, the wind completely dies down, giving the sun an opportunity to warm the top of the rock to a perfectly comfortable temperature. The skies are blue, the air is clear, and Emily is oddly obsessed with all the red roofs in Estes Park that it gives Jeff the perfect opportunity to retrieve the ring and ask his question. The weather that was brisk and windy that May morning has become absolutely perfect and it holds out for the celebration, photos, and snack break. Before heading back down, Jeff must repo the ring for the hike down since he knows Emily's fingers always swell up like sausages on the descent of hikes. With slightly more than a bit of fuss, Emily has her quickest descent ever down the mountain, with her arms held above her head the whole time.
