Jason and I met doing physics research the summer before senior year of college. At the end of the program, Jason asked me if I wanted to date long distance and I immediately turned him down. He gave me 24 hours to reconsider and I relented. After all, what's the worst that could happen?
I was sure that Jason had missed his (heavily hinted at) opportunity to propose to me outside the Palais Garnier Opera House on our trip to Paris, France. I decided to postpone breaking up with him until we got back to the United States, giving him plenty of time to propose to me *inside* the opera house half an hour later :)
