Cocktail attire Please note that the ceremony will be held in a grassy area.
Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors. Cocktail hour is also outside, but largely under a covered patio (although guests are also free to explore the hotel grounds). The reception and after-party are both indoors (in air-conditioned spaces)
August in southern Maine is beautiful! Highs expected to be in the mid 70s to 80s, lows in the 50s. The venue is on the water, so it may be windy. We're hoping for no rain!
For guests staying at the Holiday Inn Express - Wells-Ogunquit we’ve arranged for a shuttle bus to provide transportation to the ceremony. [Details to come] After the reception, the same shuttle will provide service back to the Holiday Inn. Guests staying at other locations will need to be responsible for getting to / from the Colony, with parking available onsite at the Colony
From the Colony website: Rooms in our historic main building feature openable windows, ceiling fans, and refreshing ocean breezes, perfect for optimal natural temperatures. While some summer days may be warm, most guests find the rooms remain pleasantly comfortable. We stayed at the Colony in early August 2025 and temps got down to the low 60s at night. With the windows open and the ocean breeze it was comfortable sleeping at night. We are staying here again for 5 nights around the wedding.
Only guests named on the invitation are invited to events on Saturday, August 8th. We recognize that some of you may be traveling with children. Children are welcome at the welcome event on Friday evening August 7th.
