We met while teaching at West High School in Davenport, IA. When we met it was Emily's second year at WHS, and James' first. We became very close friends and started spending a lot of time together outside of school, thanks to our co-worker Joe. Soon enough we were inseparable and now here we are.

James planned a nice day out in Solon. Although it wasn't his first choice in plans, it was a beautiful day nonetheless. After eating an incredible lunch at Big Grove in Solon, James convinced Emily to go for a walk around the trails. Little did Emily know, her sister-in-law Gailyn was waiting to get it all on film. After a short walk, James stopped Emily and got down on one knee. It was a perfect day that we will cherish forever.

James is currently teaching in Iowa City at City High School, and Emily is teaching in Muscatine at Susan Clark Junior High. Eventually we would love to be teaching in the same school or school district again. Until then, we look forward to hopefully settling down somewhere in between Muscatine and Iowa City.
