Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, we will have a kids area available! It will be set up away from the dance floor and staffed with trusted sitters. There will be plenty of toys, a TV for movies, tablets, a changing area, and a quiet space for naps. James and Emily truly enjoy spending time with all of your little ones and understand how hard it can be to find childcare, especially for guests traveling in. With that in mind, we kindly ask that local guests arrange childcare of their own if possible, so we can prioritize this space for the families that are coming from out of town. You are welcome to bring your child’s favorite toys, books, or games. Just be sure to label them.

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is semi-formal. We suggest cocktail dresses for women and suits (tie optional) for men.

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes, we will have an open bar (beer & wine only) for all of our guests to enjoy complimentary drinks throughout the event. Cash bar will be available to guests for hard liquor. James & Emily do not drink so there will be signature mocktails to chose from as well as coffee & endless sweet tea.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

To ensure we can accommodate all our beloved guests, only those explicitly named on your invitation are included. Thank you for understanding!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 4PM. Please arrive 15-30 minutes before the ceremony to get settled and accommodate for potential traffic. The HRBT is notorious for its back up in traffic.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there will be parking available at Buckroe Baptist church for the ceremony (1819 N Mallory St Hampton, VA 23664). Either in the parking lot or street parking along Mallory Street. Parking for the reception at The Historical Post office is located at The Harbor Center Parking Garage (2 Eaton St Hampton, VA 23669) or the parking lot across the street, behind Town Bank located at 101 East Queen Street Hampton, Virginia 23669

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

We kindly request that guests do not take photos during the event. We have professional photographers to capture every moment so we can unplug and enjoy!
