Matron of Honor
MacKenzie and Emily met in the summer of 2010. They spent just about every moment together that summer, and she has been a constant in Emily's life since then. Not only did their friendship survive college and their early twenties, she and her now wife, Angie, were Emily & Hunter's roommates for two amazing years! MacKenzie's Capricorn energy keeps Emily, a Pisces, in check, and her quick wit keeps Hunter on their toes. She is smart, generous, and loyal. Buy her a whiskey. She deserves it! P.S. Did y'all know that MacKenzie and Chelsea, Hunter's Sib and Best Mate, went to UNCG together? In fact, MacKenzie was the one to tell Chelsea about Hunter and Emily dating. Whoops! Who knew we'd be here nearly 10 years later?!
Best Mate
When Scott and Lauri first brought Hunter home, Chelsea reportedly said, "Take them back! I wanted a sister!" The Robinson siblings are true partners in crime, and by crime, we mean jokes that make Mom and Dad uncomfortable. Chelsea's love and support throughout the years have truly helped Hunter become the person they are. She's certainly a tough act to follow, but Hunter does okay. Through the good and the bad, we've stood at each other's side. Well, it took about 28 years, but Chelsea will be getting a sister. She has been an incredible presence in the lives of Hunter and Emily from day one. What more can you say about a sibling relationship? Chelsea is, in every sense, our Best Mate.
Emily's Wedding Party
Brittany and Emily went from strangers to coworkers to scene partners to best friends. Like Emily, Brittany is an only child, a water sign, and an avid reader. They have spent hours talking about books, astrology, and art with wine or whiskey in hand. Brittany is always down to talk about feelings because hey, we have a lot of them. Brittany is the best person to give you a book rec while telling you about where to get the best cider. Hunter, Emily, Steve, and Brittany have monthly virtual game nights since they moved to the Mid West in 2020. In fact, they are in the depths of a sweet DnD campaign! Brittany is a brilliant educator and theatre artist. One day, she'll change the world!
Hunter's Wedding Party
Hunter always jokes that they feel as though they've known Steve much longer than the five years they've been friends. He has that effect on people, after a few hours, he feels like one of your oldest friends. Steve is a loyal, caring presence in the lives of all those around him. From his family and friends, to his and Brittany's many pet-children. He is a passionate educator, and one of the most fun people to be around. If you're curious, definitely ask him about his impeccable taste in indie games!
Emily's Wedding Party
Gabi, MacKenzie, and Emily all met during a Summer Stage production of The Wizard of Oz. Gabi was supposed to go to cheerleading camp after that production, but Emily & MacKenzie convinced her to hang out with them at Summer Stage for the rest of the summer. So she did! Emily and Gabi have always been each other's biggest fans. Gabi is bubbly, kind, and hilarious. To know Gabi is to love her! Watching her family grow is one of Emily's greatest joys. She and Arthur have a forever babysitter and friend in Emily!
Hunter's Wedding Party
Hannah is Hunter's oldest friend. That's right, she even hung out with them in high school, which like- yikes. We instantly hit it off at a gathering at a friend's house, when we both did an impression of the aliens from Toy Story. From then on, it was DIY t-shirt art, improv comedy, indie punk, and all the theatre kid antics we could get into. She's an incredibly talented comedian, and a fiercely loyal friend. It's a great joy that she is a part of this special occasion.
Emily's Wedding Party
In addition to being an awesome cousin, Austin is a wonderful and caring friend to Emily. He and Emily are somehow always on the same wavelength. Maybe it's a Gallagher thing? If you're looking for someone to share a whiskey and a cigar with, it's Austin! Memories of our childhood: hiding in the dryer during a game of hide and seek, and then being yelled at for doing so To Memories of our adulthood: running into each other at random Philly bars and the most random times. He's been there for the good and the bad, and not just because he's family, but because he's Austin.
Hunter's Wedding Party
To call Michael and Hunter partners in crime is actually, technically true. They were nearly total strangers when Hunter moved into their first college apartment. But since have become best friends. Working together in a deeply dysfunctional West Philly cafe can do that to folks. Whenever a big life event happens, or an MTG set releases, you can bet Michael and Hunter will be on discord together for hours. He is a constant companion, and a (secretly) deeply caring person.
Emily's Wedding Party
Keith is Emily's oldest and one of her dearest friends. Keith and Emily met in their 7th grade Language Arts class and did theatre together all through high school. Keith started out as a tech kid, but wanted to see how the other half lived. And guess what? He was an AMAZING actor. In fact, in our senior year, he won the Best Actor superlative! Keith and Emily, while spent a lot of time together in high school, had a very different experience. They parted ways after graduation, and after the COVID shutdowns, Emily thought, "I miss Keith." So she reached out, and it turns out, he missed her too. Now, they're inseparable -- just like in the good ol' days at Haverford High School. Keith is selfless, humble, and always down for an adventure. Emily couldn't do life without Keith!
Hunter's Wedding Party
Alex and Hunter first met when Alex was producing and directing the Short Stuff festival. They were kindred spirits, deeply passionate about making art and helping people. He is a talented technician and theatre-maker. Hunter is very thankful to call him a friend personally and professionally. If you have a chance, ask Alex about through hiking the Appalachian Trail, and his ambition to be a triple crown hiker! He's got some great stories, and big heart.
Officiant
Being Emily and Hunter's roommate for the better part of three years, Anna is the perfect person to officiate Emily and Hunter's wedding. Anna is one of the funniest people in the world and one of the most caring. She was there for Emily and Hunter when they needed family (and a friend) the most. They survived the COVID shutdowns, when they were all working from home in a two bedroom apartment with no outdoor space. And they still like each other a lot -- go figure! To know and hang with Anna, Carter, and their dog Izzy is to experience true joy and uncontrollable belly laughs.
