Emily and Harmeet both grew up in cultures that had both traditions in common and those that were very different. During the ceremonies you will be able to take part in traditions that are important to both families. Harmeet's family celebrates the religion of Sikhism, while Emily's family follows Christianity.

While this will be a formal event please keep in mind the weather may be extremely warm outside. You may notice that many of the women on Harmeet's side will be wearing Indian Suits. Men traditionally wear western suits. However we invite you dress as you feel most comfortable. Whether that be a dress, Saree, Lehenga, or Pantsuit.
Usually at traditional Sikh weddings a head covering is required of all attendee's. However as we will not have a Sikh Priest presiding over the ceremony, there is no need to cover your head. However some, including the groom may choose to.
Family and friends are invited to take a quick picture with the groom and bride after the ceremony. Sometimes small cash gifts are given as blessings to the groom and bride. This is usually a small amount but is not expected if taking a picture.
During the patio hour we will have beer, cider and wine. During the reception a full open bar will be available.
The music will be a mix of Punjabi and American music. Here's a sample! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAN0IDZAHME
