Things To Do

Located in the Ingersoll area. This is where we had our first date!

Des Moines Art Center

Located in West Des Moines. This is where Emily & Geoff first met. Feed your inner-nerd!

Mayhem Collectibles Inc

Located in the East Village. Small plates and cocktails, we went here on our second date.

The Continental

Located in downtown Des Moines. Emily's favorite sushi place that Geoff can tolerate going to.

Akebono 515

Located in Ingersoll area. Geoff's favorite sandwich shop that Emily tolerates going to...sometimes. They are only open for lunch from 10am-3pm, so plan accordingly.

Manhattan Deli

Located near Jordan Creek Mall. Our favorite place for Indian food. (They will make it spicy, so be prepared)

Bawarchi Indian Grill & Bar - Des Moines

Located in the Beaverdale area. Great for drinks or brunch!

Motley School Tavern

Located in the Ingersoll area. Best coffee in the metro!

Zanzibar's Coffee Adventure

Locations all around the metro. Local fast food burger chain. (Get the single with cheese)

B-Bop's

Located across the metro. Local tacos where the shell is deep fried. (Not open on Sundays)

Tasty Tacos

Located in the East Village in Downtown Des Moines. Great beers, but no food at this location.

Peace Tree Brewing Co. - Des Moines Branch

Located in West Des Moines. One of our regular brewery stops. No food at this location.

515 Brewing Company

Located in Sherman Hill.  Great beers and good food.

Lua Brewing

Located in Valley Junction. Emily's favorite local book store.

Reading in Public Bookstore + Cafe

Located in West Des Moines. Our favorite ice cream treat! (Emily almost always gets the Lime dipped in cookie butter with graham cracker)

Monarca Gourmet Paletas

Located in Waukee. Our other favorite local ice cream shop. This is more traditional, and close second.

Home Sweet Cone Ice Cream

Located in Downtown Des Moines. This will take place on Saturday from 7am-12pm. Second only to Pike Place Market in Seattle.

Farmers Market

Located in the East Village. There are a few arcades in the metro, but this one also serves beer!
