We got married!

In October of 2018, I (Emily) was in grad school at Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA and Fil was working at a flower shop in Princeton, NJ, just about 45 min away from each other. We met on Tinder and weren't able to meet for about two weeks so we kept in touch texting every day. I decided I definitely needed to meet him after he sent me a voice message singing “Big Shot” by Billy Joel with no hesitation. I knew he was gonna be a funny one. Our first date was at Dim Sum Garden in Chinatown in downtown Philly and we still compare every soup dumpling to the incredible dumps at Dim Sum Garden.

Two years later, in October of 2020, I was offered a job in Dallas, TX, set to begin right after my graduation in December, and Fil wanted to come with me and my wiener dog Billie!! We moved into a very cute and very old little apartment in Lower Greenville where we lived until recently. In May 2022 we adopted Billie’s brother, a Blue Heeler named Hank. In May of 2024 we purchased our first home together in Oak Cliff, Dallas and moved in in June. We are loving it!

In January 2024 I was traveling for work to Frankfurt, Germany so we used this opportunity to go on a European vacation. After the trade show I was attending was over, Fil flew out to meet me in Frankfurt. We then took a train to Prague where we spent the next week touring castles, exploring the old city, eating sausages, drinking beer, and getting engaged! Fil asked me unexpectedly over breakfast at this restaurant called Mondieu our last day in Prague. We walked to the nearest little jewelry store and got a ring to seal the deal.
