A favorite neighborhood spot; come here for excellent pastas, small plates and salads. Be sure to check out the rooftop garden where they grow all their own herbs!
One of our favorite restaurants in NYC, and a great way to get a taste of Chinatown. They make the noodles from scratch right in front of you, and the average bowl is only $6-7!
If the weather is nice, this converted railroad park is a great walk! Start in the Meatpacking district and work your way up to Chelsea -- there are lots of food stands to stop at along the way with local snacks!
Located just a few blocks from the venue, this 1829 bar is one of New York's oldest -- several famous historical figures have been known to drink here throughout the years. They have an excellent beer selection, and classic pub vibe.
Open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, this is a great chance to sample some local fall treats (think apple cider, fresh pastries, and fruit) from farms in the area.
Great place to 'see and be seen' in the lobby of GPH. Cocktails are expensive but excellent, and the surroundings are beautiful. It turns into one of the city's most exclusive clubs after 10pm on weekends, so we'd recommend stopping by in the early evening.
Wide array of delicious desserts; be sure sure to try the cereal milk ice cream and birthday cake truffles.
Our favorite food cart in NYC - Thiru Kumar serves up legendary dosas (think Indian burrito) from his cart in Washington Square Park. Great for getting a taste of some authentic NYC street food!
Famous cupcake spot in the heart of the West Village; be sure to pick up one of their famous banana puddings!
Hole in the wall that's been serving up cheap falafel sandwiches since the 70's; great meal for less than $4. While visiting, be sure to explore Macdougal street a bit; lots of the Village's history is there, as well as tons of excellent cheap eats!
This offshoot of the original West Village location is a bit closer to the venue, but all great great places to grab a slice of authentic NYC thin-crust pizza -- Joe's is one of the most famous by-the-slice places in town.
Our favorite Indian food in NYC, also serves up excellent cocktails in a relaxed but upscale environment.
Cozy hole-in-the-wall that we love visiting for friendly service, big bowls of matzo ball soup, fresh challah bread, and amazing omelettes. Grab a seat at the counter and you can watch them make everything from scratch!
Cozy spot for breakfast, lunch, or brunch with an enclosed back garden area. Food and coffee are both delicious, and they have a wide range of options.
Some of our favorite sit-down pizza in NYC (we prefer it to the much more popular and crowded Johns up the street). Large array of brick oven pizzas, cozy and relaxed space, fresh ingredients, all-around a great bet.
Great place to stop for a snack if you're exploring the East Village -- known for being one of NYC's best burger joints, but everything is vegetarian! Get the original burger and a side of the burnt broccoli salad, and eat in Tompkins Sq. Park if it's nice out.
This massive Italian-themed food emporium features six restaurants, a rooftop beer garden, a gelato parlor, a grocery store, and more under one roof. Grab a slice of house-made foccacia and stroll through Madison Square Park if the weather's nice!
One of NYC's most famous diners, serves up Ukrainian food like pirogies and borscht 24 hours a day. Classic diner ambiance, large portions.
We went here on our first date! Take the neon escalators up a floor, then take the elevators to the rooftop. Incredible views and amazing cocktails, with both inside and outside options. Recommend coming here during the day, as it turns into a club at night and can be hard to get in.
Known for being one of NYC's best bowls of ramen, this spot is popular with locals and tourists alike. Try to get there at an off time or make a reservation, as it can get crowded!
