Evan and I met when I was taking a semester of classes at VUJC. I lived with my Aunt Audy and Uncle Andy at the time and Mary Sue, Evan's mother, cleaned their house. One of my first days there Mary Sue came into the kitchen at Audrey and Andy's house and noticed that I was making homemade granola. She asked if I liked the outdoors. (I guess the granola gave me away? lol) I said yes, to which she replied that her son was thinking about hiking the Pacific Coast Trail plus he was also in town after taking some time off from Purdue. She mentioned that we might get along and asked for my number so she could give it to him. I was excited by the potential friendship especially since I didn't know anyone there at the time so I wrote my number down on a sticky note. I honestly didn't think anything would come of it, little did I know... A few days later Evan texted me and asked me if I wanted to hang out. We met up at Holiday Foods in Ferdinand, IN because I had no idea what a "Bretzville Junction" was. Evan picked me up in his white Jeep with the doors and top off. I thought he was handsome and adventurous but a bit rough around the edges, nothing scissors and a trip to Urban Outfitters couldn't fix, I thought. We drove around and went to the Ferdinand Fire Tower where we talked almost the whole night. We had such chemistry and instant connection. We didn't know it then but that day was the first day of the rest of our lives together. I can't imagine it any other way :)
