Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Emily Wenzel and Evan Kraus
If you’re traveling all the way to Alberta, we highly recommend taking some time to experience the stunning Rocky Mountains in Banff. From Edmonton, it’s about a 3.5-hour drive, and just 1 hour from Calgary, making it an easy day trip or overnight adventure. Below we listed some of our favorite hikes & locations in the Banff area, as well as attractions and restaurants in Calgary and Edmonton. With staying in either Canmore or Banff, hiking Johnston's Canyon and Lake Louise are our two favorite recommendations. While in Banff, we love walking through the Banff Springs Hotel, which is iconic and then dropping below to Bow Falls, where you can simply snap some photos or get out an walk back to town.
Hiking in Banff

Hiking in Banff

Lake Louise - Tea House Hike (Drive from Banff: ~45 minutes) - Lake Agnes Tea House: ~2–3 hours round trip - Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House: ~3–4 hours round trip Johnston Canyon (Drive from Banff: ~25 minutes) -> 1–2 hours round trip (longer if continuing to Upper Falls) Note: Parking in Banff National Park will require that you have a park pass, but it's a very reasonable price. Another option is taking a shuttle, which is the safest option since it is very unlikely to find parking.
