Erick and Emily met the first day of school, Freshman year. As fate would have it, they were placed next together on the dewy grass field for the remainder of the marching season. With the help of their section leaders, they slowly became friends, getting to know each other during football games & long after school practices. Come April, two 14 year olds took a chance at first love.

After 15 years of dating, and years of love and loss, Erick and Emily snuck away to Santa Cruz with their beloved pets for a quick get away. Unbeknownst to them, the area was destined to be hit by a record breaking rainstorm that week. Through rain, winds and floods, the two made the most of their trip with plans being halted and abandoned. On their way to their favorite hideaway, San Luis Obispo, Erick slyly changed course to avoid the closed Hwy 1 due to landslides... his plan for a proposal near the Big Sur bridge was foiled. Quick-witted, Erick found a beautiful stop along the roadside to take a break. Here, in between the rain clouds, Erick finally asked the question, and through tears Emily said yes! Here we are, ready to celebrate with family and friends for the next chapter of our lives! See you in the sunshine of San Clemente!
