We met at Quidditch practice in 2014. Emily had gone to the Student Union building to sign up for recreational soccer, but it wasn't meeting that day. She was too embarrassed to just leave, so she went to the Quidditch team's meeting. Eliza was one of the team captains and was leading the meeting. The first time we ever talked directly, Eliza asked Emily if the cookies at the dining hall had chocolate chips or raisins in them. (The answer was raisins, for anyone wondering.) After that, we kept getting closer until we eventually decided to date. Of course, we decided to date 2 weeks after determining that we wanted to date, because Eliza had a stressful few weeks coming up. Since then, we've grown together in so many ways and found ways to challenge and support each other, through college hiccups and job changes and everything in between. Eliza proposed in July of 2021 at a graduation party for Emily surrounded by friends. Eliza got a team of people from one of Emily's favorite podcasts to congratulate her on her graduation and on the engagement, which is when Eliza got down on one knee. It's taken some time to get to the point where we're finally having our wedding, but we're excited to share it with you.
