Question

Where should I eat while I'm in town?

Answer

We've put this question first in our FAQs because we love food! Stuffing our faces is one of Eli and Emily's favorite thing to do together, so luckily we have lots of suggestions. Casual eats: Martha Lou's Kitchen, Nana's Soul Food, Leon's, Little Jack's Tavern, Lewis BBQ (get the brisket), Tattooed Moose (get the bleu cheese garlic fries), The Grit Counter (try a local favorite! Great for brunch or lunch), R Kitchen (E+E's favorite restaurant! 2 locations: Downtown and West Ashley. Make a reservation now) More Upscale eats: Obstinate Daughter, FIG (make a reservation now), Stella, Edmund's Oast, Chez Nous, 167 Raw, The Wild Olive

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start promptly at 3pm, so plan on arriving 15 minutes early (unless you'd like to walk down the aisle with Emily and her dad) :)

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

There is no dress code. Please come comfortably, and as yourself! Weather in March in Charleston is hard to predict, so it may be chilly or hot and humid. We will have our cocktail hour on a large lawn that overlooks the Charleston Harbor, so women may want to keep that in mind when picking shoes.

Question

Is there parking at the ceremony and reception sites?

Answer

Yes and yes! Public parking is available in the Belmond Charleston Place Garage (entrance on Hasell St.) right next to St. Mary's Church. There is free but limited parking at the reception venue. If you plan to imbibe (and we hope you do), please take Uber, Lyft, or a taxi!

Question

Will you provide transportation from the ceremony to the reception?

Answer

We will not be providing transportation between the ceremony and reception, but we will alert Uber to be in the area as the ceremony is ending. The venues are about 10 minutes from each other by car.

Question

I have a food allergy, will I be able to eat at the reception?

Answer

Gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options will be served. The entire menu will be peanut free. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact us!

Question

Do you recommend staying Downtown or in Mt. Pleasant?

Answer

If you will not have a car, we recommend staying in downtown Charleston. That way, you will be in the center of historic Charleston and close to bars and restaurants. Wherever you end up staying, Charleston is a fairly easily navigated city, and you can usually uber anywhere for less than $20.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Our entire registry is linked through this website under the "Registry" tab. We are not registered at any individual stores.

Question

When do I get my invite?

Answer

We are procrastinators and have yet to send formal invites! Expect yours in the mail sometime around the mid-to-end of January.

Question

What if I’d like to go to mass on Sunday?

Answer

Stella Maris on Sullivan’s Island offers 8am, 9:30am, and 11:30am masses on Sunday

For all the days along the way
