In the summer of 2016, Emily moved to Baltimore, where she quickly made an effort to branch out in her new city. She and her then-roommate/now-bridesmaid, Amy, decided to seize an opportunity to expand their social circle and joined a randomly assembled kickball team in the Baltimore Social Cup-In-Hand Kickball League. It was on a memorable Thursday night at McHenry Row that Emily first crossed paths with Dennis, with their post-game celebrations continuing with a lively game of flip cup at the Greene Turtle. Dennis had joined the league alongside a few friends with a similar purpose, and in no time, the spirited group blossomed into a close-knit circle. As fate would have it, this dream kickball team eventually clinched the championship and proudly brought home the boot! Although their romantic relationship didn't spark right away, Emily had a secret crush on Dennis from the beginning. She even confided in her childhood friend, Michael, early on by declaring, "I'm going to marry him one day." As the years passed, their connection grew, evolving from weekly NFL Sunday football dates and tequila-sprites at Lee’s, to intimate dinners at their favorite lobster roll spot, Thames Street Oyster House. Emily and Dennis eventually took the next step by moving in together in 2020 near Towson, MD, as Emily pursued her graduate degree. Today, Emily and Dennis live happily in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Baltimore City, sharing their home with their two beloved dogs, Koda and Shea. The rest, as they say, is history!
Emily and Dennis had hoped for one last summer getaway to Cape Cod, so they decided to make it a memorable Labor Day Weekend by inviting Emily's sister, Maggie, to join them. Arriving late on Friday night, the trio met up with Dennis's childhood friend and groomsman, Elliot, Saturday morning for a casual breakfast from West Falmouth Market, savoring their sandwiches as they strolled along the local Little Island Beach and planned their weekend ahead. Following their beachfront breakfast, the group waded through the rising tide to explore the sandy peninsula of Little Island Beach. Emily led the way until Dennis grabbed her hand, stopping her in front of the picturesque log where he popped the question. The surprise was palpable, not only for Emily but also for Maggie, who had no inkling of Dennis's plan. Thankfully, Elliot was in on it and was ready to capture each precious moment on film. Amidst Emily's tears of joy, it's uncertain whether she managed to utter a clear "yes," but the answer to Dennis's question has been evident to everyone for quite some time!
