Things To Do in HTX

Houston is home, and we are so excited to be sharing our city with you. This list could be ten times longer, but here are just a few of our favorite places to eat and drink around town.

The Rustic

1121 Uptown Park Boulevard, Houston, TX 77056

We love The Rustic for a weekend brunch. Both the Post Oak and Downtown locations have a family style brunch on Saturdays and Sundays until 3pm. Would be the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat before the wedding.

Postino Heights

642 Yale Street, Houston, TX 77007

Just a few blocks away from the house, we love grabbing a sandwich or bruschetta board from here. Lots of great wine options and a few beer choices too.

Traveler's Table

520 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77006

Traveler's Table it is another one of our favorite places to brunch. You can usually grab a table for two people, but parties greater than two might want to call ahead to make a reservation. If you do go here, be sure to order the coffee flight!

Coltivare

3320 White Oak Drive, Houston, TX 77007

David loves the pasta and Emily loves the pizza at Coltivare. If the weather is nice, they have a great outdoor seating area, and after dinner you can hop over to Onion Creek, EZs, or Benny Thunders for a night cap.

Killen’s

101 Heights Boulevard, Houston, TX 77007

If you are visiting Texas you should probably grab some Houston BBQ. While Killen's is less of a traditional BBQ spot (try Truth's across the street from Killen's for that), we love the menu at Killen's. The mixed meat plate (try the ribs), the burgers, fried chicken, and chicken tenders salad are some of our favorites. Oh, and the peach bread pudding....order it and thank us later!

Cuchara

214 Fairview Street, Houston, TX 77006

One of David's top restaurants in the city. Cuchara is less TexMex and more authentic Mexican with great street tacos, mole, and margaritas.

Da Gama

600 North Shepherd Drive, Houston, TX 77007

Da Game is an amazing Portuguese-Indiana restaurant in MKT that we walk to quite frequently for dinner and drinks. The pita, kababs, and hummus are delicious, and the cocktails and mocktails are always tasty too.

Nobie's

2048 Colquitt Street, Houston, TX 77098

This is hands down Emily's favorite restaurant in the city, so we had to include it on the list. Its more of a tapas style with a rotating menu, so lots of sharable plates and all of the apps are 100%. & save room for a piece of pie.

Z on 23 Rooftop Bar

1121 Walker Street, Houston, TX 77002

This was the spot of our second date, and such a fun place to grab a drink. With one of the best views of the city, it is worth a visit if you are not quite ready to call it a night after the welcome party.

Eight Row Flint

1039 Yale Street, Houston, TX 77008

Come here to grab a margarita or old fashioned, and don't sleep on the food truck. Some of our favorite street tacos in town.

Flight Club Houston

3515 West Dallas Street, Houston, TX 77019

We had one of our early dates here, and it is the perfect spot if you have some time to kill before wedding events and are looking for something fun to do.
