Daniel and Emily’s story started senior year at Cal Poly when Dan spotted Emily at a party. He knew immediately there was something special about her, and he was determined to have her in his life. Dan’s roommate, Vincent, was dating Emily’s roommate, Jackie. Every time Jackie came back from the boys house, she would tell Emily how Dan is always asking about her. He was on a mission to date her. In October of 2017, all of the roommates went out for Sushi and karaoke to celebrate Jackie’s birthday. This was the first time Dan and Emily had really hung out since initially meeting at the party. When they got back to the girl’s house, they were all hanging out in the family room and Dan and Emily were sitting on the couch. That’s when Dan decided to use his favorite move with the ladies, and tell Emily the story of his infamous car crash. And what do you know, it worked! It pulled at Emily’s heart strings and she leaned in to kiss him. From then on, they were inseparable. They spent the rest of senior year attached at the hip, hanging out whenever they possibly could. They fell fast and hard for each other. Just 6 months into their relationship, they were faced with the decision of what to do after they both left SLO. They decided their relationship was worth fighting for, and they did long distance for almost 3 years while Emily lived in San Diego and Dan lived in Newport Beach. They frequently visited each other on weekends, exploring each other’s hometowns. In 2021, after COVID happened and they were both working remotely, Dan decided he was ready to move down to San Diego. They found a place to live together and it was a dream come true! They’ve created the most amazing life in San Diego with great friends and also adopted a puppy, Rooster! They’re so excited to start their journey together as husband and wife and cannot wait to celebrate with all their closest family and friends.
