Why: the average wedding produces 400 lbs of garbage and 63 tons of CO2. In just one day, a wedding produces the equivalent emissions that 4-5 people would in an entire year. With an estimated 2.5 million weddings per year, that is about 1 billion lbs of trash. What this means: Our attempt for a zero waste wedding means that everything you see can and will be either reused, recycled, or composted. This means everything from the cups and plates, to the decorations and programs. As Christians, we believe that the way we do things should be markedly different in service of life and the preservation of it. Please partner with us!
Appropriate attire would be "garden attire" - Girls in colorful sundresses and boys in suits in lighter hues, khakis and blazer - tie optional. This is a wedding...DON'T WEAR BLACK. Bonus points for floral prints!
This is an indoor and outdoor wedding. The ceremony is under a covered patio and the reception is indoors. However, it is July in Tennessee so dress accordingly!
After the ceremony, the bridal party and family will be taking pictures nearby for around 40 minutes. Guests can head to the back patio for watermelon and games to socialize and then straight into the reception hall where we will be serving the Reed's favorite barbecue!
We recommend that you arrive 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony (6:30 PM CST), to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!
HECK YES WE LOVE LITTLES
For the ceremony we ask that there be NO USE OF PHONES or cameras. We have a professional photographer and we want HER taking our wedding pictures, not pictures of you taking our picture. However, you can absolutely take pictures at the reception!
