Question

Summary

Answer

We will be renting out Villa Lungomonte, a 15th century hunting retreat for the De Medici Family, for the weekend! This will be the location for the Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding, and Post Wedding Breakfast.

Question

General Location

Answer

Villa Name: Villa Lungomonte, Pisa, Italy Address: Via Trieste Asciano, 8, 56017 Asciano PI, Italy Nearest City: Within 10km to Pisa, Italy

Question

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Answer

We love your children, but due to space & property restrictions we cannot accommodate guests under the age of 18 for all events hosted at the Villa.

Question

Travel Documents: Passport and Europe ETIAS Authorization (Visa like)

Answer

Up-to-Date Passports: US Department of State recommends 6 month validity, and at least 3 months validity beyond your planned departure. Processing Times for passports can be found here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html and mention that the routine is 10-13 weeks (Not Including Mailing Times), and Expedited 7-9 Weeks (Not Including Mailing Times)

Question

Accommodation Recommendations - Where should we stay?

Answer

1) There are 2 cottages (6 person / 4 person) on the villa property that are available for rent. Both Cottages are more modest than the Villa's grandeur, and do NOT have AC however, the cottage guests are able to use the pool, grounds, and are welcome to hang on the 1st floor of the villa during the day. The cottages can be rented for 80 euros (+tax) / room per night and require a 2 night minimum. Please contact either Em and/or Dan if interested. These will be filled on a first come first served basis! 2) There are a few AirBnBs within walking distance to the Villa itself in the village of Asciano Pisano. We have not personally stayed in these, but are close to the venue. 3) We do not have a hotel block (unavailable in Italy), but recommend hotels and B&Bs within a few block radius of the Leaning Tower of Pisa for shuttle drop off after the Rehearsal Dinner & Wedding Ceremony. Some hotels we recommend include the Francesco, Duomo Grand Hotel in Pisa, B&B Il Giardino dei Semplici. We have not personally stayed in these, but the Villa Host Fabio recommends them.

Question

Transportation for the Rehearsal Dinner & Wedding Day

Answer

Transportation to these events will not provided. However, if you are staying in Pisa (due to difficulties of Taxis in the Countryside & at night) we will be providing a shuttle services to get guests home after both the Rehearsal Dinner and Reception. The shuttle will drop off near the Leaning Tower of Pisa so we highly recommend staying within a few block radius.

Answer

Casual Attire - What does that mean to us? Women Ensemble: Sundress or casual dress Women Shoes: Heals or flats Men Ensemble: Button-down shirt, polo and relaxed pants (chinos, khakis, nice jeans) Men Shoes: Casual loafers, boat shoes

Question

What should I wear to the Wedding Ceremony?

Answer

Semi-Formal Attire - What does that mean to us? Women Ensemble: Midi / long dress or dressy jumpsuit Women Shoes: Heels or dressy flats Men Ensemble: Suit or sports jacket with slacks (no denim) Men Shoes: Dress shoes Men Accessories: Tie optional

Question

Transportation Around Tuscany

Answer

Taxi's can be tricky to get in the countryside so we recommend asking the B&B hosts/hotels to help you set up. Uber operates ONLY in Milan & Rome in Italy, and runs through the Taxi system. Lyft does not operate in Italy. *All of our Taxi’s from our last visit in October accepted Credit Cards, but I recommend asking before every trip

Question

Car Rentals

Answer

We personally do not plan on renting a car, and have done our best to plan the experience without requiring a car for our guests. However, if you do plan to rent a car please note that in order to rent and operate a car in Italy, all Americans are required to obtain an International Driving Permit BEFORE leaving the US. Refer to US Embassy Link for more Info: https://it.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/local-resources-of-u-s-citizens/transportation-driving/

Question

Travel Safety Tips

Answer

Pisa in general is a very safe area. However, in any high density area there is petty crime. We have listed out a few safety tips to keep in mind while traveling. 1) Keeping passports on ones body 2) Secure all wallets & pursues especially in high traffic locations (Bus/Train Stations & Local Center Areas). For example, we recommend holding purses in the front of body, avoid keeping wallets in pockets, etc. 3) Hold on to luggage at Stations - Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for people to grab your luggage, carry it on the train for you, and then demand payment. 4) Limit Cash on body in case of pick pockets 5) Have a photo copy or photo on phone of all necessary documents (Drivers License, Passport, Etc)

Question

Additional Things to Consider

Answer

We encourage you to use our wedding as a springboard to travel and see more of Europe if your schedule allows. We have already heard multiple guests planning to explore before/after, and we absolutely love to hear that!

Question

Will my cell phone work in Italy?

Answer

How to schedule transportation/taxi's?

Answer

For those who would like to schedule additional transportation, Fabio our villa host has set us up with the transportation group called Tradycom Group SRL. Feel free to send them an email to schedule any rides (E.g. Villa Lungomonte to Pisa Airport) at info@tradycom.com. Please also cc Fabio (fabiopetrucci.iphone@gmail.com) in any requests, with the email header starting with "Villa Lungomonte - Dan & Emily" and then the request.
