Yes, vaccines will be required to attend our wedding. We also encourage testing. We are making this decision in an effort to create the safest space possible for our family, friends, and the incredible vendors who are working to make our wedding weekend happen. Although there is still time for a positive improvement in cases, we know you need time to plan based on this new information. We understand if this impacts your decision to attend the wedding and respect your decision to change your rsvp, which you can do on our website. We truly hope to be able to celebrate with you soon.
We are not planning to collect vaccine cards. We appreciate everyone's honesty and respect for our decision.
Our wedding venue is entirely outside. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be on a lawn; the cocktail hour will be on a patio; and the reception will be under a tent with open walls. If there is inclement weather, we will need to tent additional components of the wedding and may need to close sides of the tent to some extent. However, the venue does not have any fully indoor spaces. Weather permitting, the Saturday night after party will have significant outside space. We have a room and a tented patio space reserved.
You should book your room ASAP because there is a home UVA football game on the 24th. In addition to the blocks of rooms, there are several additional hotel options in Charlottesville close to downtown. If you plan on staying with a larger group, there are lots of airbnb options too! We do recommend that you confirm the postponement/cancellation policies given the small chance that we need to postpone due to COVID.
Yes, buses will depart from the Home2 Suites by Hilton (201 Monticello Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22902) to transport guests to and from the wedding venue. Please RSVP if you will take the bus so we have an accurate seat count. More details can be found under the Schedule tab.
Yes, although there will be buses to transport guests to and from the venue, parking is available if you choose to drive. It should be easy to Uber out to the venue but it may be difficult to get an Uber back to Charlottesville. The Uber may be expensive because the venue is ~30 minutes outside of town.
Yes, a bus will leave the party early at approximately 9 pm to take guests back to Charlottesville if they do not want to stay until 11 pm.
Unfortunately, the ceremony and reception are adults-only events. Children are welcome on Saturday though!
