Cameron was good friends with my brother, Josh, so growing up he was always around. He became part of our family, but little did we know it would eventually be in a different way then we had originally thought! During 4th of July weekend in 2018, he came to the lake with my family like he usually would. There became a spark between us and the rest was history! We spent about a year and a half driving back and fourth between Minot and Fargo, until I moved to Fargo in October of 2019. I didn't know what the future had instore for us at that point, but I did know that this was the man for me! Our love only continued to grow from there, we got our first apartment together, a puppy named Harlie and in April of this year we bought our first home together.
We traveled to Medora for a friend's wedding in September of 2020. Before the wedding festivities began we took a day to spend time by ourselves, sightseeing and exploring Medora. Later in the afternoon we went through Theodore Roosevelt National Park to hike and take in the scenery. As we drove through the park, Cameron seemed to be a little on edge and was singing songs from the Lion King at the top of his lungs! I thought it was strange, but was enjoying our time together so didn't think much of it. We got out of the car to hike Wind Canyon (one of the trails in the park). We hiked to the look out point that overlooked the Little Missouri. There was only one other woman there, so secretly Cameron was waiting for her to leave before popping the question. Eventually she took off and then he pretended to take an automatic timer picture, but really had set it to video. As I thought we were taking a picture, Cameron turned to me and proposed! Of course I said "YES"!
