How We Met

We were in 7th grade when we first met. I was running track for my middle school and Cameron and I had mutual friends at the time. He came with a friend to watch us run our race. Cameron and I quickly became best friends and remained that way for about a year before becoming "facebook official" on May 6th, 2011. The rest is history.

Our Proposal

April 3, 2021; Our favorite story to date. Cameron and I knew from a young age that we were each other’s forever, and therefore, we knew we weren’t in a ‘rush’. We had casually talked about getting married once I finished graduate school and moved back to Houston full time; setting our next chapter to begin 2021-2022. Telling our story requires us to rewind a bit. Cameron and I have a close-knit group of friends that we met in high school and college at Texas A&M, the type of friends that you mark off dates on the calendar for everyone to meet in one central location (since we all moved away following college). It was planned well in advance that on April 3, 2021, we would all meet up for brunch in Houston. That morning was a typical morning, Cameron and I headed to meet the group around 11, but little did I know our next chapter was about to begin! Now anyone that knows me, knows I am a bit directionally challenged, but when Cameron parked at Buffalo Bayou, I KNEW we weren’t going to brunch. I remember looking at him and both of us smiling, sharing a little laugh as he said, “we’re going to have a picnic”. It was then I knew something was up. Cameron had planned a magical picnic in one of our favorite spots overlooking the Houston skyline. We walked to the spot he had already mapped out, and as he put everything down, he immediately turned around, got on a knee and with tears in both of our eyes he asked me to spend the rest of our lives together. Over the next couple hours, we spent time talking, laughing, and cherishing the moment that had finally came after 10 years together… we were ENGAGED! From the picnic, the bottles of champagne, the photographer, the RING, the moment, everything. It was perfect. Afterwards, Cameron had another surprise waiting for me. We pulled up to Kirby Icehouse and all our favorite people were waiting for us to celebrate the big day. We spent the remainder of the night feeling immensely loved and surrounded by those closest to us.
