What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

Please wear dressy attire suited to an indoor/outdoor rustic wedding with a western flare. Dresses, dress slacks, button-downs, or suit jackets with jeans. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes or block heels are recommended because the driveway and grounds are gravel and uneven (feel free to wear your nicest cowboy boots); please avoid delicate stilettos. Shorts or casual T‑shirts are not appropriate.

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Expect pleasant, mild early September weather in Northern Illinois: daytime highs typically in the upper 70s (around 78–79°F) and evening lows near 60–61°F. It should feel comfortably warm during the ceremony and cool down after sunset; bring a light layer for the evening. Let's hope for clear skies and no rain!

Where are the ceremony & reception taking place?

Answer

Our farm, 815 Menge Rd, Marengo, IL 60152, is the location for both our ceremony and reception. The ceremony will take place under the clear top tent; the reception will be in our vintage-style building with indoor/outdoor access. All of our guests are invited to attend both the ceremony and reception.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the wedding party will take photos nearby for about an hour. During this time we may have some surprise entertainment.. Guests are invited to the vintage-style shop for cocktail hour, where we’ll serve beverages. The shop and grounds will remain open for mingling; feel free to explore the farm or visit the animals. We’ll announce when the reception space is ready and invite everyone to be seated.

How do I get to the wedding venue?

Answer

We’re in Northern Illinois, about 10 minutes from the Wisconsin border. On Menge Road, look for the farm stand and white picket fence; our driveway entrance is between them with stone pillars and an open gate. There will be signage to park either directly on our property, or next door. *Please note our address is 815 Menge Rd but sometimes when mapping directions it comes up as NORTH Menge Rd. Both variations of the address should bring you to the right place!

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We’re keeping the guest list to those named on the invitation due to limited space. If your invitation includes a plus one, please RSVP for them; otherwise we aren’t able to accommodate additional guests.

Will dinner be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

Yes! Dinner will be served. We’re catering Mission BBQ with a selection of smoked and grilled meats, classic Southern-style sides and fresh accompaniments. Vegetarian and other non-meat options will also be available.

Will there be animals?

Answer

Of course! our animals live on-site and will be available to see and pet throughout the evening. Please be aware of potential allergens: if you have allergies to cats, horses, or donkeys, take necessary precautions.
