The original plan was for Brendan and I to travel to Ohio to witness the eclipse, but life had other plans. Instead, we found ourselves in Austin, Texas, a place that turned out to be even more magical and weirder than we could have imagined. During our time in Austin, we enjoyed exploring the city, soaking in the vibrant culture, and enjoying the company of Brendan’s sister, Tess. We discovered amazing live music venues, indulged in some of the best Mexican food we've ever had, and made memories that will last a lifetime. Our last night in Austin, before the big eclipse, we decided to unwind with a round of putt-putt and then hang out at a local bar, enjoying the fun, laid-back atmosphere of the city. It was the perfect way to end our time in this lively city. Then came Monday, April 8th, 2024—a day I will never forget. We stopped on the side of the road along with many others, to witness the eclipse. As the moon slowly covered the sun, a moment of pure awe and wonder, Brendan surprised me by getting down on one knee. In the midst of this breathtaking natural phenomenon, he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was the perfect proposal, in the perfect place, at the perfect time.
