How We Met

The Thread of Fate

Our story began in the bustling hallway of a middle school, a place where lockers clanged and young hearts fluttered. He was in the 7th grade, I was in the 6th, we were both introduced to each other by my lifelong best friend, Lauren Foale who stands as my maid of Honor today. It was a brief, shy meeting that sparked an immediate connection, a quiet understanding passing between us amidst the chaos of classmates. We embarked on a whirlwind romance that, in the grand scheme of middle school relationships, lasted a monumental two days! Though our official "dating" status was short-lived, the crush lingered, a persistent whisper in my heart that refused to fade. It was as if an invisible thread had been spun between us in that very hallway, a connection that remained, unseen but ever-present. Life, as it always does, pulled us in different directions. Years turned into a decade and then some. We navigated high school, college, and the beginnings of our careers, experiencing new adventures and growing into the people we were meant to be. Yet, every now and then, a fleeting thought or a random memory would bring him to mind, a gentle tug on that unseen thread. Then, through a beautiful twist of fate, our paths began to converge once more. It wasn't a dramatic reunion, but a gradual unfolding, a quiet realization that the person who had once held my middle school crush still held a profound place in my heart. That invisible thread, which had stretched and wavered over the years, now pulled us together with undeniable force. It guided us back to each other, not as the shy kids from the hallway, but as adults who had grown, learned, and were finally ready to embrace the enduring love that had always been destined for us. We're so excited to celebrate the next chapter of our story with you!

The Proposal

The Moon Rules the Tides

Our engagement story begins on the Beach of South Padre Island, a place deeply special to us, where our earliest dates involved hours of stargazing and diving into the enigmas of the ocean all the while sitting seaside. It was there, on a chilly, full moonlit night, November 23rd, 2024 – just before our three-year anniversary – that my fiancé proposed. Though I'd secretly wondered about the timing, I genuinely didn't see it coming amidst everything else going on. He was surprisingly calm right up until the moment I noticed his nerves. He looked at me and asked how much I loved him. I said, " I love you so very much"., he then responded, "I love you, Emily Foster, this much and to the sky!" holding out a mesmerizingly beautiful ring, a ring with an otherworldly glow as if he pulled a fragment from the moon itself. It was a magical life changing moment for the both of us that we surely will never forget. The ring itself, named Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, even has its own magical tale: he chose it after Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds played in a convenience store one morning before work. He had been contemplating between two different rings but knew right then and there the universe was giving him a sign, a sign that sealed our forever. It was intimate, unexpected, and utterly magical.
