We grew up living only 5 minutes away from each other and going to the same school, but weren't really friends growing up and didn't know much about one another. If you ask Brad, he'll say Emily was probably a little too nerdy for him... After graduating from different colleges, Brad moved to Cleveland for work, and Emily for law school. We ran into each other in Cleveland and hit it off, and quickly became inseparable. The rest is history!

Although we'd been dating for almost three years, we'd had yet to take a big vacation together because of the pandemic. Emily decided to plan a fall trip to an all inclusive resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico as a way to unwind after a hectic last couple of years. We were so excited! Emily had also just started practicing law, and told Brad just a couple of weeks before the trip that she wasn't sure if she could take the trip anymore with her crazy work schedule... little did she know that Brad had started working on her engagement ring and had already asked her dad to marry her, and was planning to propose in Mexico. After a lot of convincing, Emily decided she could take the few days off after all. We boarded the plane to Mexico, and spent the entire first day there sipping frozen daiquiris and margaritas, lounging at the beach and floating down the lazy river. It was heaven! We went to dinner that night, and then decided to take a walk on the beach before the nightly entertainment started (a Michael Jackson show). As we walked out onto a pier, Brad pointed out something splashing in the water. Emily turned to look, and when she turned back around Brad was on one knee. She immediately started crying, and said yes!
