We're Getting Married!

We first met on a dating app called Hinge and got to know each other over a handful of dates. Bob knew Emily was someone special when she agreed to meet him at Mission BBQ for their second date. Emily realized Bob was different when, on their fifth date, he asked her to go square dancing, which somehow turned into 28 weeks of lessons! Emily wasn’t sure at first if she’d love square dancing (or Bob for that long), but she decided to give it a shot… and that’s really how we got to know each other. Every week, Bob would cook dinner after dance class, and over time, those evenings became the foundation of our relationship. Little by little love grew and Emily was first to say it. Since then, we’ve shared countless adventures, from road trips to South Carolina and Georgia, track day ride-alongs in Bob’s race car, and even weathering the surprise of Emily’s house flooding (which wasn’t so terrible with Bob around to help!). We’re happiest when we’re hunting down new Southern buffets, listening to music and cooking at home, taking classes together (whether it’s sausage making or spiritual growth), exploring the outdoors, and spending time with our families (a highlight was when Emily first brought Bob home to meet-the-family and they all chanted “Bob! Bob! Bob!” and he didn’t run for the hills)! Oh, and how could I forget- we both love cats! One afternoon, Bob asked Emily to grab lunch in Alexandria, VA. But that lunch wasn’t just lunch- Bob made an appointment at a jewelry store to look at rings! We picked one out, and while waiting for it to be made, Bob surprised Emily with a “cracker jack ring”. He couldn’t wait 3 months to ask! So, one evening after dinner, they took a walk, he asked her to marry him, and she said YES! We can’t wait to get married! From the beginning, we both dated with marriage in mind, and throughout our relationship, we’ve made it a priority to grow together while keeping God at the heart of it all. Our wedding isn’t just a celebration, it’s the beginning of our marriage, and we’re so excited to step into this next chapter with the people we love most by our side. The new clock on our lives together starts soon, and we’re counting down the days!
