Our Story

We connected in March 2024, and went on our first date soon after which turned out to be the longest first date ever. Both of us didn't want to stop talking to each other, and we spent a long day meandering around Ann Arbor, chatting and laughing. By our third date, Blake felt strongly that this was a girl to be serious about, and Emily knew he was different than any guy she'd met before. Just a few months later, on Emily's birthday, Blake confessed that he was in love with Emily and she opened up that she felt the same way. For weeks both of us had been bursting with the desire to tell the other, but too nervous to do so. By the end of the summer, barely six months into our relationship we both knew this was a forever love. Emily knew she wanted to hear Blake belt out George Strait songs, off-key, for the rest of her life. And Blake was smitten with every smile and laugh he coaxed out of Emily. Fast forward to October 2025, Blake had planned a surprise trip for Emily, arranging every tiny detail and keeping it all a secret from her. We boarded a flight to Banff National Park, spending the week in a cozy rental near the park. Each day we hiked together, dreaming of the future and loving adventuring together, something we cherish about our relationship. Then, one morning Blake woke Emily up early for a hike. After stopping for coffee, our love language, we started out on the Big Beehive Hike. Partway up the mountain, Blake slipped on the ice and broke the "selfie stick" and was obviously upset but tried to hide his nervousness; though Emily suspected he had something planned. At the very top of the hike, overlooking Lake Louise, Blake brought Emily down to the edge and propped up his phone (sans broken selfie stick), and got down on one knee. Tearfully, Emily accepted and then Blake surprised her even further by announcing there was a hidden photographer ready to take engagement photos. Now, as we look ahead to our future together, a future filled with love, joy, faith, and beautiful friendship; we are filled with gratitude for this love story that brought us together. The right time, the right place, the right person. Perfect for each other, and unlike anything we ever imagined or dreamed could exist. We can't wait to celebrate our love and marriage with you soon!
