The closest airport to Saint Simons Island is the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport (BQK), it is only 25 minutes away from the wedding location. If you are looking for more flight options we would suggest the Jacksonville Airport (JAX) which is a little over an hour away or the Savannah Airport (SAV) which is about an hour and a half away.
