We met during high school when we both decided to participate in Mock Trial. We quickly became best friends and spent the remainder of the year running track together. From there the rest is history! We feel very lucky to have found each other so early on in life, and have enjoyed getting to grow up together. We certainly have changed a lot since we first met, but getting to support one another through times of immense change has been an immense blessing.
Austin proposed on our first trip out west to Montana and Wyoming. He completely surprised me, as the message, "it is not happening on the trip," was drilled into my head for the 6 months leading up to the trip. He crafted a story that we were going to take new headshots, which seemed like a logical plan to me. He had me take a couple of test shots, before he exclaimed, "I wrote you a letter." I was still under the assumption that he was not proposing, so I took the letter, while in my mind thinking, "it might just be a letter, which is a very sweet gesture, so even though you are hoping for a proposal, you should be very excited about the letter." The letter was beautiful, and when I finished, Austin was down on one knee. Through lots of joyful tears, I said "YES!" It was the single happiest moment of both of our lives. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in November!
