Andrew and I met at my high school best friends wedding in 2017. I was a bridesmaid and he was a groomsmen. The truth is I didnt notice Andrew until we were on the way to the reception, I was too busy crying during the ceremony to notice anything or anyone. We all took a trolley to the reception and thats where I noticed Andrew. Mr. Brightside by The Killers was playing and I saw him and instantly thought “oh he’s cute!” Of course at the reception I didn’t have the nerves to talk to him. It wasn’t until after the reception when me and a bridesmaid went out downtown that I finally spoke to Andrew. Within the first five minutes of talking I showed him pictures of Koda (pretty sure that’s what made him like me) and that’s when we just kind of hit it off. I left that night thinking I’d never see or talk to him again but it wasn’t until I added him on Instagram that he proved me wrong. Once we became friends on Instagram he slid into my DMs and the rest is history. Emily and I met at a wedding; classic. I was a groomsman for one of my close college roommates and she was a bridesmaid for one of her best high school friends. The first time I saw her, she was standing across the isle from me and I thought she looked absolutely beautiful. Fast forward to the reception and I couldn't help but keep glancing over at her, and every now and then our eyes would lock and that's when I knew I might have a chance. After the reception, all the groomsmen wanted to go downtown, and she didn't know it, but I was so excited that she decided to join us. Naturally, during our first conversation at the bar, she gets her phone out to show me pictures of Koda, and things kicked off from there. Me being a more reserved guy, I didn't try to make any moves, I just made light conversation and added some charm here and there. Turns out it worked! Because the next morning she had added me on Instagram, and after I slid into her DMs, the rest is history.
If you know Emily, you know she is obsessed with Harry Potter. So back in April of 2019 when we found out Andrew would be getting deployed, we decided to take a trip to Harry Potter world for a little getaway together. Andrew had already gotten the ring, and he knew it was her favorite place on Earth, he just needed to figure out a plan for when to pop the question. Emily's family had convinced her it wasn’t going to happen, so she wasn't expecting anything at all. During the first day at Harry Potter world, Emily was like a little kid on Christmas and she wanted to share all of these cool places and rides with Andrew since he had never been before. Meanwhile, Andrew was racking his brain trying to figure out a perfect place and time which made Emily think “oh my gosh he hates this! Why did I even bring him here?” Well that night there was a light show on the Harry Potter castle, and after a long day of walking, Andrew had to do a little extra convincing that they should stay for it. There was a huge crowd gathered around, so after a little more stalling to let the crowd die down, Andrew suggested taking one more picture in front of the castle at night. That's when he took the opportunity to ask a near by woman to take some pictures while he proposed! So there we were taking a picture and next thing you know, Andrew gets down on one knee and asked Emily to marry him! To be honest, she can’t remember what he said because she blacked out a little. But naturally she said yes behind tear filled eyes and it was the most special day at her favorite place in the entire world!
