Emily and Alex met in their hometown. Alex was attending community college and Emily was finishing her final year in high school. When Alex went off to finish school, Emily and he knew they had something special and they were not going to let anything get in their way. Emily spent weekends driving to see him and it was only a matter of time before they moved in together. Fast forward three years, four moves, and one dog later; Emily, Alex, and Oliver have found themselves more in love than ever. They have settled into their careers, purchased their first home, and are ready to take their next steps towards forever. Thank you for celebrating this time in their lives; each and every one of you will make the experience more memorable and filled with love.
What started as a casual weekend trip to the Big Apple became the start of something more, but before we jump into it, lets rewind seven months when Alex first got the idea in his head. Alex searched high and low for the perfect ring. One day in Georgetown, he and his mom came across the perfect one. Unsure, and eager to get this right, he looked to his mom for advice. Without hesitation, his mom knew this was it. Fast-forward five months; Alex has asked for her parents' blessing and has started planning the big day. Where else to ask the big question then on the love bridge in Central Park. Emily and Alex planned for a nice evening walk through the park ending with a romantic dinner. On their stroll, they stopped at the bridge and Alex asked Emily if he could take her picture with the bridge behind her. While taking the photo, family members rushed across the bridge to stand behind her. Emily then turned to have a photo with her back to Alex and facing the city, a tradition they started when visiting the city. This is when Emily noticed all her family standing behind her; however, it wasn't until Alex grabbed her hand and said her name that she knew what was about to happen. She turned to see Alex on one knee asking her to spend the rest of her life with him. I'd say the rest is history, but it doesn't end there. While at the celebratory dinner, the entire top half of the city lost power. Fortunately and luckily, Alex had another surprise up his sleeve. He quickly called his cousin Sebastian and his cousin's wife, Marisa, already in NYC and waiting to celebrate their engagement. They saved the day and pulled together a table to accommodate everyone in lower Manhattan. We finished out the evening celebrating on the rooftop bar with breath-taking views of the city...the rest is history!
