Running into each other on the dance floor of a mutual friend’s wedding was the start of a love story that travels the world and brings two dogs, a cat, and two loving families together. AJ and Emily connected for the first time at a wedding reception back in September of 2021 and immediately hit it off. They quickly got to know one another and realized their passion for travel. Plans for trips began to blossom starting with the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky. There they explored their love of fine spirits and food with dear friends, confirming the relationship was one that would last. Since then, they’ve traveled to Canada, Scotland, England and France; spanning everything from foreign Christmas markets to the Summer Olympic Games. AJ proposed to Emily on February 29th (Leap Day), 2024 at the Historic Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach. A surprise engagement down in the privacy of the Sunken Garden, AJ had secretly hired photographers to capture the moment. Meanwhile a large group of their family and friends waited for them in The Hunt Room Bar beneath the hotel for a celebration that was yet another surprise to Emily. With so many awesome adventures already under their belts, AJ and Emily are looking forward to many more experiences together, starting with their honeymoon to Curacao. They’re getting married in a small intimate ceremony with their immediate families at the first winery they discovered together just south of Charlottesville, Virginia on October 20, 2025. They plan on celebrating with all of their extended families and friends on March 27th, 2026 at the same location they met, the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, Virginia.
