Adam and I met years ago when we were in college. We never dated, or hooked up, but we always stayed friends. He was roommates with guys I went to high school with, so he would show up sporadically at Delco gatherings. Nine years after first meeting, I received a message in my Facebook inbox with a meme that said "Keep Calm and Cupid Shuffle On" saying it made him think of me. That was his pick up line, and it worked, because that conversation that lasted a week or so, lead to our first date. He convinced me to come to Reading for the date. I thought it was nuts to drive an hour or so away for a date, but decided to take the chance. Hey if it didn't work out, he would be easy to avoid haha. So I went. We went to Mom Chaffe's for dinner, and then went to The Works and played games. When it was time to leave, I didn't want the night to end. So, when he invited me back to apartment just to hang out a little longer, of course I said yes. His bachelor style apartment: beer being the only thing in the fridge, Jameson being the only other drink of choice, limited furniture, bed being a mattress on the floor, with crates as nightstands, did not scare me away. We had a great night and drank a lot of Jameson. I knew I had drank too much to drive back, so he offered for me to stay the night. When we woke up the next day he asked what I wanted to watch, and I said Seinfeld. He says that is when he knew I was different from other girls. We have been together ever since, and I am a packaged deal, so that means Braylee too. Through ups and downs, we have learned and have grown more from each other in the years than we could ever have imagined. If he had never taken the chance of messaging me, if I had never taken the chance to drive an hour for a first date, we believe it would have happened another way because we are each other's meant to bes. We can't wait to have our friends and family in one place to celebrate with us!
