We're getting married!

They met at work - simple as that! Being on the same team meant they spent a lot of time together, and the feels were caught! Alex decided to take a chance and invite Emily to dinner right before she moved to another shift (just in case it got awkward). Luckily, even though she was the most flustered she'd ever been when he asked, she was all in! After the initial dinner, a group from work had planned on going to see fireworks downtown. Slowly but surely, everyone but Emily and Alex dropped out... and it magically became a second date! Alex planned an epic day involving brunch, a movie, ice cream, and fireworks. The day was full of conversations both big and small. It was connection that made it clear this was something worth a shot!

After picking out the ring together, Emily told Alex the proposal was up to him. Whenever, wherever, just preferably in a relatively private setting. Fortunately, the 2020 climate made private settings the most accessible they'd ever been. Their friend Jess, the Maid of Honor, got Emily out of the house (completely without suspicion) while Alex set up a scavenger hunt of memories and souvenirs from their relationship. It was beautiful! It was such a lovely way to relive the last few years and look forward to the future. Emily (of course) said yes!
