Travel Note
If you plan on bringing a car to the island, you will need to make a reservation through the Steamship Authority. Reservations will open early 2025. You can also take a Peter Pan bus from Boston or drive to the ferry and park your car in Woods Hole for the duration of the weekend. Check out their website for more information
Flight
Martha's Vineyard has one airport with direct flights to Boston, New York City, and Washington DC. The airport is conveniently located about 10 minutes from downtown Edgartown.
Travel Note
Once on-island, public transportation and cabs will meet all arriving ferries and flights. Rental companies that offer cars on the Vineyard include Budget, Hertz, and Avis at the airport or you can rent them at Martha’s Vineyard Auto Rental in Edgartown. One of our favorite ways to get around the island is to bike. You can rent bikes from Edgartown Bicycles, Wheel Happy, and Martha's Vineyard Bike Rentals (all in Edgartown), or if you are staying in a hotel, they may provide them. Martha’s Vineyard Transit Authority also provides easy transport between all towns on the island. You can easily access the schedules by downloading the TransLoc app. If you don't bring a car and don't stay downtown, make sure to have the number for a cab handy! Adam Cab (508-627-4462 or 508-693-2617); Stagecoach Taxi (508-627-4566)
