Emily traveled to Vero Beach after accepting her teaching job. John was the first coworker Emily ran into while showing her dad the classroom. She noticed the Lions gear right away and knew he had to be a Michigander - as only true fans wear Lions attire! We taught together on the same team for a year before John gathered the courage to ask Emily out. We continue to teach at the same school today!

John took Emily to Riverside Cafe for dinner to watch the sunset, overlooking the water. While waiting for dinner, John asked Emily to be his girlfriend. Riverside continues to be a favorite for dinner dates!

Emily and John traveled to Playa del Carmen in June. John secretly booked a private gazebo on the water for Emily's birthday dinner. After having an unplanned photo shoot, John asked the photographer to stick around for one more picture. He took Emily by the hand and proposed as the sun was setting. Emily was beyond shocked!
