We crossed paths for the first time in May, 2018 during a gathering of The Ghost Ride Cycle Club in St. Louis. For the uninitiated, The Ghost Ride is a recurring group bike ride that meets the evening of every full moon for a social, group ride that is more rolling party than athletic endeavor. While we had chatted briefly earlier in the ride, a connection was solidified when Emily got an unexpected flat tire towards the end of the ride and Stephen was there with patches and a general understanding of how bikes work (both things Emily was lacking) to lend a hand. When we later realized we were both members at the same local rock climbing gym, it seemed pretty clear that our niche hobbies were aligned and we started dating. Fast forward four years, and we got engaged on the evening of the September full moon Ghost Ride, really coming full 'cycle'.
