Great Smoky Mountains

We’re so excited to celebrate our wedding with you in the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains National Park! Our venue, Elkmont Club Cabin #J, is nestled in one of the most scenic and historic areas of the park. The Great Smoky Mountains are famous for their misty peaks, diverse wildlife, and rich Appalachian history. With over 800 miles of trails, breathtaking waterfalls, and endless scenic views, it’s no wonder this is the most visited national park in the U.S. Whether you’re looking to relax, explore, or enjoy some local flavor, there’s something here for everyone! Hiking Laurel Falls Trail: Easy, family-friendly walk to a gorgeous waterfall (2.3 miles round trip). Clingmans Dome: Short but steep, this trail leads to the highest point in the park with 360° views. Alum Cave Trail: A moderate hike with incredible rock formations and views (4.4 miles round trip). Scenic Drives Not a hiker? Take a scenic drive! The Cades Cove Loop offers stunning views and chances to spot deer, bears, and more. Waterfalls Explore some of the Smokies’ famous waterfalls, like Grotto Falls or Abrams Falls—perfect for a photo-op. Historic Sites Visit preserved 19th-century cabins and churches in Elkmont and Cades Cove, offering a glimpse into Appalachian history. Gatlinburg Attractions Just minutes from the park, Gatlinburg has something for everyone: charming shops, the SkyLift with breathtaking views, and even Ripley’s Aquarium for the kids (or the young at heart). Helpful Tips Day Passes Required A parking pass is required for all vehicles entering the park. Passes can be purchased here. Transportation Guests are responsible for their own transportation to the venue. Parking is available at Elkmont, but carpooling is encouraged. Pack for the Weather The Smokies’ weather can be unpredictable—dress in layers to stay comfortable. Welcome to Gatlinburg, TN! Nestled in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg is a charming mountain town known for its stunning natural beauty, quaint shops, and outdoor adventures. Whether you're visiting for the first time or returning to the Smokies, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Things to Do: Explore the Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Hike, picnic, or enjoy the breathtaking views. The park is free to enter, though a small day pass is required for parking. Stroll Through Downtown Gatlinburg: Discover unique shops, local art galleries, and delicious dining options. Visit Attractions: Check out Ripley’s Aquarium, the Gatlinburg SkyBridge, or Ober Mountain for fun activities. Outdoor Adventures: Go zip-lining, horseback riding, or enjoy scenic drives through the mountains. Travel Tips: Weather: The Smoky Mountains have variable weather, so pack layers to stay comfortable. Parking: Paid parking is available throughout downtown Gatlinburg. Parking in the national park requires a valid parking tag. Transportation: Consider walking or using the Gatlinburg Trolley to avoid downtown traffic.
