Everything here is good. Nothing is bad. It's our favorite diner in town, and not just because it's the only diner in town.
This is our favorite Indian restaurant in town. The food is delicious and it never disappoints. One of our favorite date nights is to only order things we have never had before. We have yet to have a bad meal.
Enjoy one of their craft pizzas or create your own. Our favorite is: pepperoni, bacon, jalapeños, and PINEAPPLE. If you don't like pineapple on pizza, that's cool. You do you. BUT WE LOVE IT! If pizza isn't your thing, ask about their ghost kitchen menu. Spoiler alert: it's tacos.
This is where we had our first date and many repeat trips. Mrs. Bonnie jokingly calls it "Anthony's place". They do great local food and have a very expansive bar selection. Emily's favorite dish: buffalo wings with a side of mac and cheese Anthony's favorite dish: pork chops with rootbeer glaze with a side of steamed veggies There is another location in Baton Rouge (10870 Coursey Blvd) which we loving call "Fake Chimes". It is just as good but not quite the same.
Baton Rouge's very own bourbon, whiskey, and fruit brandy distillery. Check their website for tour availability!
This restaurant is very special to us. This is where we had dinner the night we got engaged. You should ask us about the story and exactly how CLUELESS Emily was!
You wouldn't think the best craft cocktail bar in town would be in a strip mall, but it is! The bartenders here have all been in the game quite some time. Their menu is a great mix of classic and creative.
They are too cool (or too lazy) for a webpage. We have spent many a date night at this bar. It is very relaxed and has a large outdoor seating area. Before the pandemic we would often find ourselves here on a Friday night and make our way down 3rd street. There are a lot of fun bars along the way. Just come and go as you please.
This is our favorite downtown restaurant. They rotate their menu seasonally and source their ingredients locally. Don't forget to ask about their specials!
Another great place to get craft cocktails. It is right down the street from our house, and we always run into friends when we go. It's a great neighborhood spot.
Eat ALL of the dumplings! It's a tucked away neighborhood spot with a cool vibe. There are a lot of fun spots right in this area too. Park your car or get dropped off under the overpass and walk from place to place.
This place isn't sure if it is a martini bar or a dive bar. We think it's both. This is another great spot under the overpass.
Come for the drinks. Stay for the conversation.
In tacos we trust. Have truer words ever been spoken? We don't think so either. This is a great neighborhood taco joint. You can usually find the owner hanging around. He's a great guy and loves Baton Rouge. If you are looking for more recommendations, look no further than Jay. Bonus: Cypress Coast Brewing is right next door!
