We me the summer of 2014 when we both worked for the same company. Emily had just moved to Dallas for work, and Richard grew up in the DFW area. After about a year of just being coworkers, Richard asked Emily to go out for dinner and "catch up". We really hit it off and started dating a few months later....and the rest is history!

We had a vacation to San Francisco and Napa Valley planned for months. Little did Emily know that Richard was planning to propose during that trip. During our first day in Napa, we visited 3 or 4 wineries and had a blast doing wine tastings and driving around the beautiful Napa Valley area. At the end of the day, we had dinner at a really nice restaurant in St. Helena and then drinks at a cozy tavern across the street. Walking back to our car, it was quiet and romantic....and then Emily got the hiccups. Richard said, "I need to do something to surprise you and get rid of those hiccups....maybe this will surprise you." And then he was down on one knee with the ring, asking Emily to marry him. She of course said, "YES!" - and the hiccups stopped right then. We are so excited to share this next step in our lives with you! See you in Breck!
