Castlewood Canyon State Park
This is where Emily proposed to Nic! They went on a hike around the park, had a Jimmy John's picnic, and she proposed at a scenic spot overlooking the canyon. It made Nic feel very loved! Special thanks to Lucero and Keely for helping to document the sweet moment.
Mother Cabrini Shrine
This is where Nic proposed to Emily! They visited the beautiful old chapel and walked up the hillside stations of the cross. About halfway up, Nic proposed in a secluded spot, and made Emily very happy! Afterwards, they finished the climb to the shrine and sipped water from the blessed spring. Also, Nic accidentally made a pregnant lady sprint up a hill because he arrived early. Special thanks to Keely and Jason Barney for helping Nic plan and document this moment.
Cañon City
Nic took Emily here for her birthday and graduation present. They explored the historic town, rode the Royal Gorge Railroad, and had a rainy adventure tracking down a big goose they saw from the train... I mean it was a BIG goose. We had to see it.
Idaho Springs
The couple traveled here for their six-month anniversary! They relaxed in the local hot springs, had great food and drink, and explored adorable streets lined with shops. Emily also lost her wallet (which if you know her, makes sense), but thankfully it had been left next to the car by a good samaritan.
Denver Botanic Gardens
From one of Nic's favorite memories, the couple spontaneously walked here after Mass one Sunday. They explored the vibrant and diverse landscapes, and almost crashed a wedding by ducking under a velvet rope. They were caught in a rainstorm on the way back and were absolutely soaked. It was loads of fun!
Clear Creek Canyon Park, Gateway Trailhead
This is one of Emily's favorite dates! The couple walked along the gorgeous trail which runs along Clear Creek and saw a snake!!! (Nic hates snakes but Emily thought it was pretty neat). They ended up in the heart of downtown Golden Colorado and ended the day with a picnic at a local park.
COFF33
This is where Nic and Emily met in person for the first time! They had been talking on Catholic Match for about three weeks, so Emily pulled the trigger and asked Nic out on a sweet, simple coffee date. Nic thought Emily was beautiful and one of the easiest people to have a conversation with. Emily thought Nic was very handsome and smart and almost laughed out loud when he went to formally shake her hand at the end of the date. Had her smiling all the way home.
