Our very first shed hunt where I found sheds I was so excited that Michael proclaimed that he had created a monster! The few sheds the first year turned into weekly shed hunts together and is now an activity we both really enjoy! There’s no feeling quite like finding a shed; it’s spring times most exciting scavenger hunt! On 5/17 Michael said we would go shed hunt after his bear hunt. He came back into town and got me and we headed up the mountain. Michael said he hadn’t shed hunted this spot yet but he had found nice elk sheds there in the past. He pointed me in the direction to go and I took off looking for sheds trying to not go rogue. We went about a half mile when I see 3 points coming up from the grass under a tree. I get closer and see it’s the nicest elk shed I’ve ever found! I was so excited I ran towards it running faster when I looked over my shoulder and saw Michael approaching; I was afraid he would try to claim he had seen it first with his binoculars! I get to the shed and am picking it up examining it and suddenly I see it. There’s a very shiny ring on the 4th point. I look up and Michael is right there I ask him “what is this” and he grins and takes off the rubber bands holding the ring on (thanks for making sure it stayed on Jill!) and gets down on one knee and popped the question!
