We’re getting married!

We matched on a dating app on December 24, 2016. Neither of us were looking for anything serious at the time so we wanted to keep things pretty casual. We had our first date and met each other in person for the first time on January 17, 2017 at Texas Roadhouse. Our first impressions of each other were as follows; Emily- "Wow this woman is really short!" Laura- "Well, she could've worn something better than a handcut tank top with a flannel and jean shorts" Our first impressions obviously didn't deter us from going on many more dates after that! Our first kiss was after one of our dates on February 8, 2017 while watching The L Word (very stereotypical lesbian, I know!) After that night, we both knew this was going to turn into something way more than what we were expecting. A few months into dating, Laura told me, "You're going to fall in love with me one day." Of course, I didn't believe her and thought that she was just full of herself. Yet, sure enough, we fell madly in love! Then, we made our relationship official on April 5, 2017!

On September 21, 2019 Laura proposed to me at one of my favorite places- Carter Mountain, doing one of my favorites things- picking apples, during my favorite season-Fall! She placed the ring on the stem of an apple, then asked me what I thought about that apple. I turned around and didn't notice the ring at first, I was confused why she was so adamant about this apple. I then realized what was sitting on top of the apple and immediately grabbed the ring because all I could think about was what if the ring fell and rolled down the hill we were on! I sobbed like a baby while Laura stood there in front of me and asked me to marry her. We had lunch at Michie's Tavern (also one of my favorite places) at the bottom of Carter Mountain, then we ended the night at Howl O Scream (yet another one of my favorite places!) It was absolutely perfect.

We are living together in our first apartment and we recently adopted our sweet (dog) daughter, Nyla! We are excited to celebrate our big day with all of our closest family and friends. It will be a night to remember with LOTS of dancing and fun! Thank you for reading this far, we appreciate all of the love and support we have received from each and every one of you.
