We met at we believed to be the coldest football game of the year lol. My friends Emily, Elise, and Jett went to support me at a volleyball game I was coaching in Collinsville and after the game we went to Emily's old high school Paradise football game in Peaster. We layered up with jackets and 20 different blankets. At the game is where I met Landry, Landry was one of Emily's best friends in high school. We found out we had so much in common since we were both coaches and got talking the rest of the game. From there our friendship then later relationship took off. Bearing the brittle cold was well worth it!
Landry went out of his way to make the proposal the most special and personable day. He told me to dress nice that we were going somewhere super nice to eat but wouldn’t tell me where. We arrived at our first destination at Perinis’ in Abilene (which was one of my favorite places to eat at in college) then drove me another two hours to the ranch where he said we were meeting my two closest friends to take pictures of us since I always say we don’t take enough pictures (but that was a lil fib😉). He knew my grandparents ranch was my favorite place because of its beauty and the memories I have with all my family. Landry and I would go exploring on the place and we climbed up this big rocky hill to find the most beautiful view. He asked my grandpa if he could go to the ranch and clear up some trees to make a path to the proposal spot. We traveled the path up to the top of the hill where he popped the question. After the proposal we went back to the ranch house where I was surprised with all of mine and Landry’s family to congratulate us. Being surrounded by all my friends and family made the day even more special. To celebrate, we had to go hog hunting that night and fishing the next day :)
