We're getting married!

Emily and Ignacio first crossed paths in June 2021 while working as patient care techs at Danbury Hospital. It all began with a quick glance on the stroke unit before Ignacio introduced himself. Emily, needing an extra hand with a patient, asked for his help—and he didn’t hesitate. It was love at first wipe! At the end of their shift, Ignacio walked Emily to her car, and for the first time, she got to see the face behind the mask. Over the next few months, they’d occasionally end up working the same floor, each time excited to see one another. In October 2021, Ignacio asked Emily on their first date, a hike around Saugatuck Reservoir. From there, they went on adventures like a haunted maze, double dates with friends, and late-night Game of Thrones marathons. As their relationship grew, so did their love for travel. After making it official, Ignacio and Emily explored St. Maarten, where they discovered their shared love for beach vacations. Over the years, they returned to St. Maarten (their favorite spot!) and also traveled to Argentina, Mexico, Virginia Beach, and beyond—always coming home to Murphy, their lovable pup. They supported each other through new chapters, including going back to school, building their careers, and creating countless memories together. On June 29, 2025, after Emily convinced Ignacio to pick up furniture from Facebook Marketplace (which went surprisingly smoothly!), he surprised her on a picnic in Albany, NY—where he got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him.
