We first met in the fall of our senior year in college at a local bar. Fast forward to spring semester, we both attended a luau themed date party. Later that night, Dale “politely” stole me away from my date and the rest is history!

Under the guise of going to a WVU football, Dale and I drove to Deep Creek, MD to spend the night. The next morning, Dale suggested we check out the new dock before leaving and heading to Morgantown for the “game”. While getting dressed, I overheard Dale speaking on the phone and he sounded stressed out. I came out to question what the issue was and he explained it was about work and to not worry. Slightly suspicious, I continued to get ready and didn’t think much more about it. I wanted to crop my WVU sweatshirt, so I called from the bedroom that I needed a pair of scissors. Dale said to come into the kitchen to look for them. As I rounded the corner, I found him on one knee with ring in hand. Instantly, I started crying and said yes! Lo and behold, the suspicious phone call was about how the dock had been pulled for the season, forcing Dale to change his proposal plans. Next, he surprised me with our families at a local restaurant and we celebrated the rest of the weekend together! We can't wait for October! Excited to see yinz in the ‘burgh!
