In the summer of 2017, the couple was a part of an opportunity to go to London and Paris with the French Club at North Montgomery High School. Andrew is older than Emily, so while they had met and spoken a handful of times before this trip, they didn’t really know each other. While overseas, the two became friends and bonded over their love for The Office, Twenty One Pilots, and musicals. They quickly became friends and hung out the entire trip. In fact, the couples first picture taken together is on top of The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France taken by Madame Fike. After the trip was over, the two friends stayed in contact with each other. Andrew had graduated from high school and enrolled at Indiana State University in the fall. In the spring of 2018, Emily and Andrew began talking more and more. They talked on the phone, watched Netflix together via Watch2Gether, and made a Spotify playlist curated to their friendship. Their first “non official” date was to The Joshua Cup in Crawfordsville, and they frequently went to breakfast at Allen’s Country Kitchen when Andrew would come home from college on the weekends. On May 14, 2018, after Emily took her AP Music Theory exam and cut out from the rest of the school day, she met Andrew at Dari-Licious and he asked her to be his girlfriend “like, officially”. They’ve been together ever since. Emily followed Andrew to Indiana State to pursue a degree in Music Education in 2019. In 2021, Andrew graduated with a degree in Middle School Math Education. That summer, the couple moved to Terre Haute and Andrew began teaching there. On October 9, 2021, while in Las Vegas celebrating Emily’s 21st birthday, Andrew proposed to her on the Paris Casino Eiffel Tower. Andrew and Emily have two babies: their cats Delta and Zeta. They love to visit family and friends and their three nephews Jalen, Karter, and Noah. They love slow mornings at home with breakfast and coffee. The couple enjoys to travel, go to concerts, and make memories with the people they love.
